TrueCut respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and retain information when you use the TrueCut iOS application.
This policy is written to clearly explain our practices, particularly regarding photos and face data, in accordance with Apple App Store guidelines.
1. Information We Collect
Photos and Face Data
When you choose to upload or take a photo using TrueCut, the image may contain a face. These photos are provided explicitly by you and are required to generate hairstyle previews.
We do not collect:
- • Biometric identifiers
- • Facial recognition data
- • Facial landmarks or face templates
- • Data used to identify or track individuals
We do not perform facial recognition, identity verification, or profiling.
Usage Data
We may collect limited, anonymous usage data — including app opens, screen views, and general device information — collected via Google Firebase Analytics to help us understand usage and improve the app, such as generation status or error events. This data does not identify you personally.
Purchases
All purchases are handled by Apple through In-App Purchases. We do not receive or store payment card details.
Face Data Collection, Use, Sharing, and Retention
TrueCut processes user-uploaded photos that may contain a face. This data is provided explicitly by the user and is required to generate the hairstyle preview requested by the user.
Why we store face data
Face data is stored temporarily to process the hairstyle preview, allow users to view and refine results, and support retries or error recovery.
How long face data is stored
- • User-uploaded photos are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
- • Generated hairstyle preview images are automatically deleted within 7 days.
These time periods represent the minimum amount of time required to provide the app's functionality. Face data is not stored indefinitely.
Third-party sharing of face data
User-uploaded photos are shared with a third-party AI image generation service solely to generate the requested hairstyle preview.
Why face data is shared with a third party
The third-party service performs the image processing required to produce the hairstyle preview. Without this processing, the app cannot provide its core functionality.
Third-party data retention
The third-party AI service does not retain face data beyond the processing required to generate the image and does not use face data for training, advertising, or analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data only to:
- • Generate the hairstyle preview you requested
- • Allow you to view and refine generated results
- • Provide temporary access to your generation history
- • Operate, maintain, and improve the app's reliability
We do not use photos or face data for:
- • Advertising
- • Analytics profiling
- • Training AI models
- • Identifying users
3. Data Storage and Retention
We retain data for the shortest time necessary to provide the app's functionality.
Retention Periods
- • User-uploaded photos: Automatically deleted within 24 hours
- • Generated hairstyle images: Automatically deleted within 7 days
No face data is stored indefinitely.
These retention periods exist to:
- • Complete image processing
- • Allow users to view results and refinements
- • Support retries and error recovery
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
AI Image Generation Service
To generate hairstyle previews, user-uploaded photos are transmitted to a third-party AI image generation provider solely for processing the requested image.
- • The provider processes the image only to generate the output
- • The provider does not use the image for training or advertising
- • The provider does not retain the image beyond processing
We do not sell or share face data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as app opens, screen views, and general device information (e.g., device model, OS version, country). This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Firebase Analytics does not collect your name, email, photos, or any personally identifiable information. 5. Security
All data is transmitted securely using standard encryption technologies such as HTTPS/TLS. Stored images are protected using industry-standard security practices.
6. User Choices
- • You choose whether to upload or take a photo
- • You may stop using the app at any time
